Selena Gomez & Serena Williams Launch a New Initiative for Mental Health
Mental health illnesses are real, argues star singer Selena Gomez. Every now and then, the internet is flooded with stories of depression, anxiety, and stress. Some of these accounts are shocking to the degree that these mental health patients end up committing suicide. However, what is more petrifying for the “Lose You to Love Me” singer is that most people believe these issues do not exist.
In an interview with The Sun, Selena Gomez explains how she can sympathize with mental health victims and the initiatives she is taking to help them out. This is where she stepped up and cofounded a multimillion dollars startup called “Mindwodner.” Along with another Hollywood hall of fame, Serena Williams, Selena has co-founded this startup which is the crying need of the day.

In November 2021, Mindwonder raised $2 million from the ventures of the Hollywood star Serena Williams. This made the company’s entire revenue (or valuation, if you like) $100 million. Initially, there was no ‘professional’ website for the company. Selena and her fellow stars would share some verbal and written guides for mental health patients. Her mom, Mandy Teefey, was – and currently is – the leading member of the startup.
Now, even more good news is coming from Selena Gomez and her fellow cofounders of Wondermind. The company has now launched an all-encompassing website. Mental health patients can visit the website and get the required guidelines for coping with mental illnesses. Furthermore, almost 600,000 Americans have signed up for Wondermind, as per the latest updates of October 2022. Reports suggest that Wondermind sends almost 500,000 emails to its active users weekly.

Apart from the guides and tips for coping with mental health issues, Wondermind also donates a fair share of money for those patients who can not afford the medications.
Thus, Selena Gomez, her mom, and her fellow star Sierra Williams are the leading members of the company. And how come we forget the mastermind behind the startup, Daniella Pierson? The CEO of Mindwonder, Daniella is a leading entrepreneur in the U.S. She is the think tank that came up with the idea of Mindwonder. And Sierra Williams and Selena Gomez gave the idea a practical touch.

Talking about the launch of the new website, the co-CEO says that Wondermind is now targeting a much bigger audience. We are ahead of what we had thought initially, she asserts. Thus, Mindwonder will dig out all the mental health patients who go unnoticed.
In an article published in Forbes, Pierson calls Mindwonder “the most lucrative competitor of Psychology Today.” What she means by that is that Mindwonder is in competition with the largest companies in the U.S. that are dealing with mental illnesses. Unlike them, Mindwonder has more outreach and popularity. They have got Selena Gomez! And it is more engaging and entertaining than other platforms.
